A heat exchanger is an equipment which transports heat from one end to another by generally using hot oil and cold water or cooled air. The transmission of heat is done by exchanging materials transfer in separate stages.
To cool a liquid substance fluids pass through tubes of the shell heat exchangers and tube heat exchangers while cool air passes through a core in an air cooled heat exchanger.
There are three main types of heat exchangers;
- Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
- Plate Heat Exchangers
- Air Cooled Heat Exchangers
Heat exchangers can be utilized in many industrial areas like;
- Food processing
- Marine industry
- Power generation
- Swimming pools and spas
- Mobile plants
